Good or bad, I encourage everyone to post comments (constructive critics prefered) about what ever you may read below. I'm no great writer, but I have fun with it. Hope you enjoy. Editors NOTE: For the record...I have included some poems that I wrote while being in sad/dark places. Writting down those feelinigs and thoughts would help get perspective on being sad. So I included them just to say, if you have ever felt this way, you are not alone. Write your own feelings down. Read over them and maybe share them with someone you love/who loves you. Don't let it bottle up.

Sing to the tune of "I'll Be Home For Christmas"

Sing to the tune of:
“I’ll be home for Christmas”

“I want a comb for Christmas”

I want a comb for Christmas
My hairs in disarray
Tangled strands, from the badlands
An Armageddon bouquet
The wind and rain have tousled
My mop like a rag doll
I want a comb for Christmas
My hair holds me in thrall

I want a comb for Christmas
In a pinch a pick would do
The critter nests, almost infest
I’ll also need shampoo
My barber has abandoned
All hope without full shave
I want a comb for Christmas
I’ll be waiting in my Cave

Are you still there? Do you remember me?

Are you still there?
Do you remember me?
Was there unfair?
Was I too blind to see?
Did you walk away?
Were you running fast?
Something did I say?
Of future or of past?
Was there any love?
Can you answer this?
Memories spoken of?
Ever share a kiss?
Or a hug to share?
Did Us ever be?
Are you still out there?
Do you remember me?

Inspired, in part, by the poem Lois Lane's (Margot Kidder) mind spoke while flying around with Superman (Christopher Reeve), "Can you read my mind", and in part by Superman Returns.
“DACHSHUND ~ WIENER DOG ”
( Sing to the tune of “Jingle Bells” )

Dachshund through the snow
Tries to catch up to the sleigh
The horse is trotting fast
Bells a jinglin’ all the way
The pup barks loud and clear
I wanna ride, don’t make me beg
When I catch up to you sleigh riders
I’m gonna bite you on the leg

Oh wiener dog, wiener dog
Running in the snow
With his little paws wishes Santa Claus would make him faster go-OH
Wiener dog, wiener dog
He runs with all his might
Please slow down, or I’ll hit the ground and die on Christmas night. ( He’s a bit dramatic )

The horse’s pace it slows
There’s hope, the Dachshund smiles
He imagines a warm lap
As they ride the sleigh for miles
Thinking how he likes the woods
How he’s not a City Pup
Then his day dreams fall when he hears the call
“Bobtail, Giddy UP!”

Oh Wiener dog, wiener dog
It just seems so unfair
With his little limbs, seems like a sin that the driver doesn’t care
Oh Wiener dog, Wiener dog
If he were a grey hound
He’d run past that sleigh, laughing all the way into the little town.

Now this Dachshund’s feeling sad
Drained his energy supply
Feels he never will catch up
Frozen tear falls from his eye
Then he gives it one last push
Barks with jacked up Audio
Then he sees the driver pull the reigns
As he shouted “BOBTAIL WHOA!”

Oh Wiener dog, wiener dog
Your little legs are saved
Jumping in the sleigh, wagging tail, HURRAY!, through the snowy trail you braved
Wiener dog, wiener dog
The victor gets a ride
But it’s short not sweet, cause the rides complete, "Tie the horse let’s go inside".

Where has my mind wandered now?

Do Wa Ditty, Oh what a pity
Where has my mind wandered now?
Off into null, bouncing in my skull
Comics with no Bang and Pow.
Like not thinkin’, with eyes still blinkin’
Lights are on but no one’s home
Shades up or down, no smile nor a frown
Blank stare as brain writes this poem.

Now and then something just pops out of the brain.
You should write it down, before it too wanders off.

breaking of the springtime sun

The breaking of the springtime sun with robin’s song in air,

brings voices to the silence of the winter tree’s affair.

From water fall to babbling brook the ice has given way,

leaving a trail of new born life, where once the snow did lay.

The gusting wind with lion’s roar   arouse the forest’s sleep.

A stretch and yawn to greet the day   regeneration keep.

a Sunny Ode to ODEs

It’s a slow and crafty road
for a self-referring ode,
to speak the truth within humility.

To not let praise exceed
beyond factual need,
so as to maintain plausibility.

Deserving ode it does,
for centuries it was,
a gallant advocate for all but one.

It’s time credit is given
to Ode for noble livin’.
A moment for us all to say Well Done.

When 2 begins 1 (or 1 ends in 2)

Two Deaths, if just one birth
An endless torment, an end to all mirth
A blink of a pleasure becomes perpetual hell
An absence of love that one never can quell

Two Births end in just one death
Accepting the gift for eternal breath
A redeemer’s call, a soft heart receives
Salvation given when one trusts & believes

Hedging one’s bets while in earthly youth
Is simply rejecting eternity’s truth
Serving two masters cannot be attained
Reject or accept; only one is retained

Birth of the spirit after birth of the womb
Heaven eternal results with the Groom
Reject the Truth and death visits twice
Gnashing & Burning an eternal price.

" IF "

IF seems so small,
yet appears to enthrall
a rule about the question it preceded.
In, is, or it
just as big but don’t emit
the exuberance that IF most always deeded.

IF stands upon no throne,
can literately stand alone
implying what has not or has been said.
IF one short word,
igniting thought when heard,
does question even more inside ones head (! or?)

It in question, IF is real.
IF thought can/might repeal,
itself or any thought or anything.
IF self preserved,
an unchanging little word,
but when used can change everything.

Ode to being SICK

Oh SICK you are so callous

Your rage I feel in depth

For you I hold much malice

That has no measured breadth

You come so uninvited

Unwelcomed you shall stay

My temperature ignited

Your end has no belay

Reek havoc on your victim

An act with no remorse

So heed my only dictum

Your rage will run its course

And when I’ve rested fully

And you’re but a recall

You will no longer bully

And I’ll be standing tall.

Light

I need Your light to find my way back home
Leave it shining brightly in the window
Lord this prodigal’s life, heart, and soul
Need to feel the Son’s warmth to his marrow.

And the Light it shines just like the Son
For the world to see what He has done
Hope the world is watching on tonight

“God is light, no darkness in Him at all”
In salvation’s love His light surrounds us
Only lost can be found when they call
Upon the one that saves, his name is Jesus

And the Light that shines comes from the Son
For the world to see what He has done
Hope the world is seeking Him tonight.
Come and share His Love’s Light with the earth
Tell them how much your salvation’s worth
How eternity in Love’s so bright.

This little light of mine reflects His Way
Need to feed the spirit for it to grow true
Never let your light fade away
May be the hope for someone lost to find you
